Even the rescue Loco slipped on the climb up from Parkstone station but assistance from the Crompton did the trick and the train crested the bank some 72 mins late. Quite why the 33 was left behind in the first place is a question yet to be answered! Hindsight is a wonderful thing. 28th November 2013
I got home around 9am after the school run to learn that the Steam special to Bristol had got no further than Parkstone after Black 5 44871 had slipped to a stand on the bank. A quick drive up the road to Sandycoates Rd found the Charter sat in the cutting awaiting assistance which eventually arrived from Poole in the shape of 33029. 28th November 2013
